Ford Kiernan is a Scottish actor, comedian, and writer best known for Chewin’ the Fat and Still Game, the latter co-created with Greg Hemphill. Born on 10 January 1962 in Dennistoun, Glasgow, he built a career that spans stage, television, and film, becoming a household name in Scottish comedy.

Trained as a tailor and later a barman, Kiernan made his first mark at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 1995. His win at that year’s Fringe for the play Don’t Start Me set the stage for a partnership with Hemphill that would define Scottish sitcoms for over two decades.
